A Four-year degree in art, and specialization in interior design is preferred by most companies.To practice interior design 22 out of the 50 states require you to have an interior design license.
The aim of interior design is to make spaces more comfortable and functional.
I want to become an interior designer because it sounds like a job I will enjoy and a way to be creative on a daily basis. I would never want to have a desk job in some lonely cubicial. I want to have a job where everyday there is a new adventure; and I get to meet new and inteseting people.

varies from
$30,000 to 75,000+
Interior design is most
popular in urban areas
but can thrive
anywhere depending on
your specialties; so I
feel it will be relatively
easy to find a job if
you're willing to travel.
What interior designers
do; Interior designers go
into private homes, offices,
hospitals and many other public
places and redesign the space
to make it more functional or
esthetically pleasing. Every day
there is a new environment,
a designer might meet with a
client at their home or go
shopping with them, but usually
they're at the site overseeing
the design process.
An interior designer should
have many skills such as:
be creative yet analytical,
be able to visualize interior
spaces and create plans
and designs to meet
clients' needs; pay attention
to detail; be able to juggle
projects; have solid
management skills; work
well with a variety of
people; meet deadlines;
act calm and professional
under pressure. It is also
desierable to many clients
that their designer be farmiliar
with compter aided design.
